Harbhajan Singh Ad: Vijay Mallya Has Made A "Large" Controversy

The latest McDowell ad featuring MS Dhoni and a Harbhajan Singh-lookalike has created ripples in the country.

Jul 19, 2011 - The Harbhajan Singh advertisement controversy has taken an ugly turn with Dr. Vijay Mallya announcing that they will not pull the spoof advertisement down.
This was the original advertisement, made by Royal Stag, filmed on Harbhajan Singh. It speaks about Harbhajan Singh's career and how he kept questioning himself at every point in his life, whether 'he had made it large'

And then, there was the spoof. Made by Royal Stag's competitors, Mallya's UB Group, it depicts a Harbhajan Singh-lookalike speaking on whether he had made it large, before being slapped and swore at by a man who admonishes him for making 'Large' ball-bearings. Indian captain, MS Dhoni, a brand ambassador for the UB Group, then asks the viewers to forget making it large; instead try doing things differently.

Despite the legal notice sent by Harbhajan Singh's mother to the UB Group, Mallya was in no mood to bow down. He retorted, "There are several TV programmes that spoof our politicians. What will happen if all of them start sending legal notices?"
Meanwhile, Dhoni and Harbhajan are busy on their tour of England, plotting the opposition's downfall in the first Test match to begin at Lord's from July 21.
